Love the colors, very vibrant and they contrast very well with one another. Pose is also quite cute.
I'll agree on the background. Something seems off. Not much, just a little. Maybe it's the colors?
Would totally give "Want" a read if I was into shipping. Sadly it's not really my cup of tea. No offense to anyone who likes it.
Anyway, lovely work
I think it's the colors. I wanted to use some more pinks and yellows, but I also didn't want to blind people. But yeah, the colors don't exactly convey their relationship well, if that makes sense. I find it almost ironic that I tried to draw them as cute as possible, when in reality, I really dislike when people write "fluffy" fics of them (I love it when their relationship is laced with drama).
Oh that's okay! Shipping's not for everyone, just like adventure's not my thing.
I can enjoy quite a lot of things, as long as there's some proper context behind it.
I don't like what I consider pure shipping.
(i.e, pairing two characters together on what I would call a whim. BonBon/Lyra, Vynil/Octavia comes to mind. "They're seen together on a bench. Ship. They're both musicians. Ship")
Yet, I do enjoy romances. But do those fall under shipping?
One of my favorite fics was a romance between Twilight and Trixie, and I enjoyed it greatly due to the deep psychological background the author placed behind it.
On a related note, I don't enjoy explicit sexual material either (clop clop
Yet I'm ok with implied sexual content. The fanfic in question, for example, had both sexual explicit and censored chapters.
(I can digest "these two characters had sex". On the other hand, "these two characters had sex, and they did this and placed it there and then did that with the thing" doesn't go down well).
Overall, I loved that fanfiction to bits. Credit where credits due, the author is one amazing writer, but there were some elements of things I don't enjoy, and I was alright with them being there.
I guess it comes down to context is everything.
Either that or I'm an eccentric pony. I would also be ok with that I guess. Gotta have some quirkiness in your life ^^
Anyway, what I'm getting at is that maybe I'm being rather monotonic to dismiss the fanfiction based on the "shipping" tag.
Maybe you can tell me, based on the insight above, it you think it would be something I would enjoy.
I will certainly give it a try if you think it would suit my tastes.
Also, apologies for the rather lengthy reply. Really didn't mean for it to drag out so much.
Hopefully I've not bored you out of your mind. :7
Do you happen to have a link to said fic? I don't ship Twixie, but it sounds interesting.
Yeah, I'm not into clop. But I'm fine with suggestive content, etc. if it's important to the overall plot.
This story (Want) isn't explicit. The pacing overall is pretty good (except in chapter 8). Only major issue I have with it is that it rarely updates, really. Also, it's been a while since I read it, so I can't remember everything.
No worries, it's an interesting topic. I'm sorry for such a shorter reply than yours.
Here is a [link] to the fic.
Pretty extensive, and it keeps getting darker as the story goes along, but it bounces back at the end.
Emotional, and well written. Opinions may differ of course, but I loved it a lot. Maybe you will do to.
If you want some more insight, I have a quite emotional and painfully long thank you letter to the author around page 15 of the comment section, but I advise against it. No pony should suffer thought that
I'm gonna give "Want" a try. I need something to read at night, and I trust your judgement.
Cheers for getting back to me. You're a sweetheart ^-^
Just started the first chapter; definitely one I'll keep reading. Thanks for the recommendation!
I hope you enjoy it! It's certainly a fun one, and it gets a little emotional at some point in the middle. I'm actually re-reading it myself.
